“Intuition is letting go of the need for certainty.” — Brené Brown

Chances are, you probably already know what intuition is. I love the definition Brene Brown offers in her book "The Gifts of Imperfection" because it reminds us that there is no 100% when it comes to intuition.

She goes on further to say that “the need to be certain is what silences the intuitive voice. Sitting in uncertainty makes us feel anxious, vulnerable and fearful. We start looking for validation outside of us rather than trusting what comes through.”

We can never truly know the answer of why we get what we get. The mind’s job is to always doubt information that it doesn’t understand.

Inner Wisdom comes from beyond the mind, so the mind doesn’t really understand it or accept it. Expect self–doubt. When it arises, thank the mind for sharing its concerns, and keep going.

Don’t beat yourself up over it or “should” yourself into some kind of artificial certainty! “Accuracy” in channeling and all intuitive work, for that matter, is a very subjective thing. As someone who lives by her intuition fully, I do not know the outcomes of things, but I trust that my intuitive nudges came for a reason, and I go with it and see what happens.

How would you define intuition? Does it come naturally to you?

I've always felt really connected with wolves and animals in general and I'm sure I won't remember what the source was because i was so young when I heard it but someone had discussed that humans were the only creatures who don't readily trust their instincts and that's something that has always stuck with me. I've always tried really to unlearn the need to know why I feel a certain way before simply following and trusting that instinct and for me that's what intuition is it's that little voice that just seems to know things before you do. I think that we all naturally have instincts of course but how strong they are really comes with how readily you are willing to listen to them. For me I'd say it comes rather easily because I've spent so long with that in my head.

Nico, I agree with you that it all comes as part of the being human package but trauma, experience, and society tells you that you can't trust yourself and for many people, re-learning trust is the hardest thing they have to do when it comes to this work. Thanks so much for your comment!
